Walk & Talk: Buds, Bark & Berries

Come and join us for a beginner’s session on Winter Tree ID on Wednesday 22nd January. Trees are most commonly identified by their leaves, but once winter emerges this is less of an option. During this session you will learn other ways to identify trees during the winter. Discover different types of bark, buds and berries to become a more observant naturalist.

This walk and talk is suitable for anyone who wants to gain confidence in basic tree ID or find out a little more about Campbell Park. The session will be outside for the entirety so please dress appropriately for the weather.

The guided walk and talk will be at a moderate pace. Most of the walking will be on hard paths, but we will need to go into the grassy areas to get up close to the trees so we recommend sturdy boots or wellingtons as it may be muddy. There is one section on woodchip paths. Wheelchairs and pushchairs may be more difficult to manoeuvre in those areas, but the lead can adapt the session. We will be going up and down part of a steep slope (not completely to the top of the park).
There are available toilets on site.
