Walk & Talk: How to Spot an Otter
With interest in the species growing each year, why not join us to find out how to increase your chances of spotting an otter in your local park? European otters leave lots of signs of their activity, which help us to narrow down where to stake out and hope for a glimpse. Our team team will guide you on a walk around one of our known otter territories, teaching you how to look out for their behviours, and hopefully finding signs of activity ourselves. Please note - this guided walk is an introduction to the techniques of looking for otters and does not guarantee a sighting.
This walk & talk will involve a moderate-paced and distanced walk around Linford Lakes Nature Reserve. While relatively flat, and some parts paved, but the majority of the walk will be on grass and an uneven terrain. We highly recommend sturdy footwear, especially following any period of rain as the site can get muddy. There are occasional benches and wildlife hides around the site that can be used for resting. There are no toilet facilities at this site. A hearing loop is available on request. Please contact us on outdoorlearning@theparkstrust.com for any further accessibility information or support.
