Walk & Talk: Family Wellbeing Wander

Join us for a wellbeing wander around Howe Park Wood to explore your senses and relax. The wander on Tuesday 6th April from 11am-12 noon will include a range of activities to help you unwind and experience nature in a different way. We will tailor the walk to enable all ages to enjoy!

We will be following forest bathing techniques developed in Japan in 1980’s, that have been found to lower blood pressure, reduce stress, and improve memory and concentration. Some findings even show it can help us stay healthy - nature is a powerful healer! Booking is essential to secure your place and experience this immersive session.

The session is for an hour, but you can just do as much as you like. Our Education Centre will also be open to the public from 9:30 to 12:30. We will have free nature-themed challenges, artefacts on display such as nests, skulls and feathers that are found across our different parks, and self-guided trails so you may wish to arrive earlier to enjoy these activities before the walk.

We will be walking on muddy trails with tree roots underfoot and uneven ground. The walk will be at a very gentle pace.
Booking is essential, and we ask that you please turn up 5 minutes before the booking time, to allow a prompt start. Please purchase a ticket for each person attending. Please note, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Please contact us if you have any questions: outdoorlearning@theparkstrust.com Dogs: Only assistance dogs are allowed on this walk.
