Talk: Sustainability - How to Create a Better Future

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the topic of “sustainability”? Perhaps you’ve just wondered how you can make more of a difference as an individual in a wider society.

Join us for an evening talk on Wednesday 27th November about what it means to be sustainable, the main threats and issues facing our planet’s survivability, and what the consequences of being unsustainable can mean for our world. We will also introduce you to small but impactful ways to lessen your effect on the planet, such as recycling, reducing your carbon footprint and helping to protect biodiversity.

The talk will take place at Howe Park Wood Education Centre. Seating and a small selection of hot drinks will be provided. Access to the building from the carpark is fully accessible. There are toilets at this facility, including a disabled toilet. Please note this talk will be delivered using visual aids on a projector screen. Talk notes can be provided and a hearing loop is available on request. Due to the time of year, please expect that it will be dark when exiting the building - there is limited lighting outside the Education Centre. Please contact us on outdoorlearning@theparkstrust.com for any further accessibility information or support.

This talk is suitable for adults and children over 12 with an interest in the environment and sustainability. All under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult. Booking is essential.
