Walk and talk: Wellbeing wander for families
Join us for a wellbeing wander around Howe Park Wood to explore your senses and relax at half term. The wander will include a range of activities to help you unwind and experience nature in a different way. We will tailor the walk to enable all ages to enjoy!
We will be following forest bathing techniques developed in Japan in 1980’s, that have been found to lower blood pressure, reduce stress, and improve memory and concentration. Some findings even show it can help us stay healthy - nature is a powerful healer! Booking is essential to secure your place and experience this immersive session.
We will be walking on muddy trails with tree roots underfoot and uneven ground. The walk will be at a very gentle pace. There are toilet facilites and refreshments available in the cafe and education centre. Please get in touch on outdoorlearning@theparkstrust.com if you require any accessibility support or to request a hearing loop or have any questions about accessibility.
The session is for an hour, but you can just do as much as you like.
Please note, there will be a free open morning at Howe Park Wood education centre on this day from 9:30-12.30 with lots of free nature activities, just in case you want to come along before your walk!
